Dry Stone Walling

We aim to restore the historic stone boundary wall in the meadows using traditional, mortar-free techniques. These walls provide vital micro-habitats for insects and small mammals while maintaining the site's unique agricultural heritage. In addition we aim to extend the wall into a circular feature around the large Hawthorn tree.

Meadow Maintenance

Our conservation grazing and scything programs ensure that vigorous grasses don't choke out wildflowers. This project is essential for increasing biodiversity, providing a nectar-rich haven for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Tree Planting

Volunteers plant native saplings to create new woodland corridors and exploded hedgerows. This helps capture carbon, provides essential nesting sites for birds, and ensures the long-term health of our local nature reserve.

Flora Surveys

Help us identify and catalogue the plant species flourishing in our meadows. These surveys track the success of our restoration efforts and help us protect indigenous wildflowers, lichen, grasses and trees. Did you know there are at least eight species of grass in the meadows?
