Asker Meadows Local Nature Reserve.
More than just a Green Space.
The AMLNR committee is dedicated to the conservation of Asker Meadows, offering educational programs and community volunteering opportunities for all in conjunction with Bridport Town Council
Thank you for showing an interest in Asker Meadows Local Nature Reserve
Founded in 1984, Asker Meadows Local Nature Reserve was established to protect the unique biodiversity of our local environment. Our mission as a steering group to Bridport Town Council is to foster a deep connection between the community and the natural world through conservation, education, and volunteering.
In order for Asker Meadows Local Nature Reserve to thrive both now and in the future for our local community it needs to be looked after by the community. Everyone can play their part.
The AMLNR committee would like to invite any interested individuals or community groups to join in the continual restoration, maintenance, and future planning of the nature reserve. Your help is needed.
Activities will include simple monitoring of wildlife, surveying grassland, hedgerows and river habitats, tree planting, hedgelaying, wall restortion, litter picking, balsham bashing and more.

Due to modern day concerns relating to insurance, safeguarding,GDPR and other numerous layers of red tape the committee must ask all interested parties to fill in and read the relevant documentation that can be found on the membership and documents pages before turning up to volunteer
We are dedicated to the restoration of native flora and fauna. Our ongoing projects focus on rewilding degraded meadow areas and creating sustainable environments for local species to thrive.

The AMLNR committee would like to thank all individuals who have given their time and expertise in the past and we look forward to continuing their good work.
Together with other organisations such as Bridport Town Council, DWT, The Brit Valley Project, Dorset National Landscapes and the EA we aim to make AMLNR a very special space for both wildlife and general users.
